FAQ

So is FBLA-PBL like a co-ed business fraternity?

Though both FBLA-PBL and business fraternities offer similar career building and leadership development programs in a professional setting, there is no need to rush for our organization. We have no pledges trying to fulfill requirements to join PBL. All you need to do is to fill out a membership application, and you're in!

My major has nothing to do with business or economics. Can I still join?

YES! In fact, we encourage students from ALL majors and backgrounds to join PBL. We have members with majors ranging from Mechanical Engineering to Biology to Political Sciene. It is important to develop qualities necessary in becoming a leader, no matter what your career goals are. In today's world, taking the extra step to build upon your academic abilities by developing these skills can give you an edge in a very competitive world.

Are all PBL events open to UCLA students?

NO. Certain selected events are open to all UCLA students such as Professional Panel Night and Networking Night. Most of our career development activities including conferences and competitions are part of our unique Membership Program and open to members exclusively. Become a member to benefit from all of our workshops with sponsors, presentations by recruiters, leadership training exercises, and competitive events.

I want to get in touch with a specific firm. Can PBL help me?

Definitely. Along with our Corporate Partners, we connect and collaborate with recruiters and professionals of numerous firms. These firms are frequently involved with our events and interact with members closely. If you want to learn more about a certain firm and get in touch with them, simply express your interest to our officer team and we will work with you to reach your goal.

Its the middle of the school year. Can I still become a member?

Certainly. Simply attend one of our meetings or events and speak to our officer team to learn more about being a member. If it is already Winter or Spring Quarter, you may become a member by filling out the membership application and paying the appropriate membership fee.
